Submission of reviesed manuscript 7. February 2022

Dear Editor,

attached please find the revised version of our manuscript "Core-log- seismic integration in metamorphic rocks and its implication for the re- gional geology: A case study for the ICDP drilling project COSC-1, Sweden" for publication in Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems.

In order to improve the manuscript, the three main suggestions of the reviewers were:

- to adjust the motivation in the abstract and introduction,

- to integrate more information on previous studies at the borehole COSC-1 as well as generally in the field of core-log seismic integration in metamorphic rocks, and

- to add more information on the mylonites and discuss their reflectivity.

These suggestions are very constructive and we have adjusted the manuscript accordingly. There is no doubt that the manuscript is much improved as a result of the reviewer suggestions. We are now provid- ing a better link between the motivation of the paper and the results and conclusions of our paper (suggested by both reviewers). Further- more, we have substantially expanded the discussion of previous stud- ies on log-core correlation as well as on core-log-seismic integration. In particular, we have rearranged chapter 4.1 to include the chemical and physical logs referring to different studies that were suggested by re- viewer #1. In order to discuss our results on the origin of reflections

along COSC-1, we have added further links to similar projects (as sug- gested by reviewer #1) and clearly presented their similarities and differ- ences to put our result into perspective. As suggested by reviewer #2, we have included here a further paragraph that discusses the reflectivity of mylonites and why we cannot image them at COSC-1.

In the following please find a detailed list of the reviewer comments and how we have dealt with each comment. All changes are visible in the tracked version of the manuscript. We also had to introduce some minor editorial changes not requested by the reviewers to keep the flow of the text.

We hope that you find that we have addressed satisfactorily all of the re- viewer suggestions and remain with best regards,

Judith Elger
