Die vorliegende Arbeit konnte erfolgreich zeigen, dass Schulkinder in Afghanistan eine erhebliche Prävalenz von PTBS aufweisen. Ein Augenmerk auf diese psychische Stö
rung in der zukünftigen Ausbildung afghanischer Lehrer scheint daher unerlässlich. Ein weiteres wichtiges Ergebnis ist, dass Kinderarbeit ein starker Prädiktor für häusliche Ge

walt ist. Über den schon bekannten DosisEffekt hinaus ergibt sich Kinderarbeit damit auch als ein zusätzlicher Risikofaktor für die Entwicklung einer PTBS.
Die Stärken dieser Studie liegen insbesondere darin, erstmalig Aussagen über den übergreifenden Zusammenhang zwischen kriegerischer Gewalt, häuslicher Gewalt und der Entwicklung von PTBS treffen zu können. Zukünftige Studien hierzu sollten mittels paralleler Befragung von Eltern und Kindern vorgehen, um genaue Kausalzusammen
hänge herausarbeiten zu können. Außerdem wäre es wünschenswert eine repräsentative Stichprobe verschiedener städtischer sowie ländlicher Regionen zu erheben, und dabei auch Kinder zu erfassen, die nicht zur Schule gehen.
Ebenfalls wurde anhand dieser Arbeit deutlich, dass bezüglich der Prävalenz und der Auswirkungen häuslicher Gewalt noch ein großer Forschungsbedarf besteht und Studien hierzu idealerweise kultursensitiv vorgehen sollten.
In methodologischer Hinsicht wurde in der vorliegenden Studie gezeigt, dass es möglich ist umfangreiche ScreeningUntersuchungen mittels einheimischer Interviewer durchzuführen, welche den Anforderungen klinischer Validität standhalten. PTBS wurde dabei zum wiederholten Male als interkulturell valides Konzept bestätigt.
In Hinblick auf mögliche Intervention und Prävention empfiehlt sich ein Vorgehen auf mehreren Ebenen. Zum einen besteht ein großer psychologischer Betreuungs und Therapiebedarf auf individueller Ebene. Die bereits bestehenden psychosozialen Bera
tungsstellen der Caritas in Kabul zeigen beispielhaft, wie eine solche Intervention ausse
hen kann, und legen großen Wert darauf den familären Kontext der Klienten zu berück
sichtigen und in die Beratung und Therapie mit einzubeziehen. Über die Familienebene hinaus besteht des weiteren auch ein Bedarf an Interventionsprogrammen auf Gemein
deebene. Gerade in Hinblick auf Kinderarbeit und häusliche Gewalt wären Aufklärungs
kampagnen nötig, die ein Bewusstsein für deren schädliche Folgen wecken. Auch be
züglich grundlegender Konzepte von psychischen Störungen wie der PTBS besteht Auf
klärungs und Informationsbedarf in der Bevölkerung.
Wie in der Einleitung bereits erwähnt, konnte diese Arbeit nur einen Teilaspekt der vielen Probleme behandeln, mit denen die Kinder und Erwachsenen in Afghanistan tag
täglich zu kämpfen haben. Man kann diesem an Kultur und Geschichte so reichen Land nur wünschen, dass auf die Jahrzehnte des Krieges nun endlich eine stabile und dauer
hafte Zeit des Friedens folgen möge. und die Interventionsmaßnahmen der internationa
len Gemeinschaft nicht nur den materiellen Wiederaufbau des Landes vorantreiben, son
dern auch ihren Teil dazu beitragen, den Kindern Afghanistans die Chance auf eine ge
waltfreie Kindheit und Jugend zu geben.
