3. Forschung
Mit der Integration von Naturwissenschaftlern in die Forschungsaktivitäten der Klinik für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe sind die Vorraussetzungen für die guten wissenschaftlichen Leistungen der Klinik auf dem Gebiet der Grundlagen- und der translationalen Forschung weiterhingegeben.
3.1 Forschungsschwerpunkte
Die Schwerpunkte liegen im Bereich der Tumorbildung, Zellproliferation und Genexpression beim Mammakarzinom und der Pathophysiologie der Endometriose. Im Bereich Endokrinologie wird schwerpunktmäßig die hormonelle Kontrazeption in klinischen Studien untersucht.
Eine große Rolle spielen die zahlreichen an der Klinik durchgeführten klinischen Studien bei Tumorerkrankungen der Brust und des Genitale.
3.2.Forschungsprojekte

Zellzyklus-Kinasen schützen Krebszellen gegen apoptotische Signale aus dem Tumorstroma
Studien zur posttranslationalen Regulation von Caspase-8 in mitotischen Tumorzellen als potenzielle Intervention für die Tumortherapie

Drug Development
Prädiktion von Platinresistenz mittels Genexpressionsanalysen beim Ovarialkarzinom
Genexpressionsanalyse steroid-hormonrezeptorvermittelter Einfüsse im Mammaepithel-Funktionalität und Wechselwirkungen von Östrogenrezeptor-alpha und -beta, Progesteronrezeptor, HER2 und der jeweiligen Isoformen beim Mammakarzinom
Klinische Studien:
Derzeit werden über 20 Studien zum primären und metastasierten Mammakarzinom sowie der gynäkologischen Karzinome durchgeführt.
Die primären Brustkrebserkrankungen werden im Rahmen der GBG (German Breast Group)-Studienprojekte behandelt. Die Klinik nimmt an allen Studien der AGO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Gynäkologische Onkologie) zur postoperativen Chemotherapie und zur Rezidivtherapie beim Ovarialkarzinom bzw. Endometriums- und Zervixkarzinom teil.
Es werden 2 klinische Studien in der Endokrinologie durchgeführt.
