VII. LEGAL AID
Legal aid is enshrined in the constitution but only in certain cases foreseen by law (see Federal Law No. 63 from 31.05.2002). There are unclear provisions for its implementation so in practice it is difficult to get access to legal aid.
In the case of refugees free legal assistance is not provided by the state. However, the UNHCR and the European Commission provide a considerable part of funding to organisations and lawyers belonging to the network “Migration and Rights” who are therefore able to offer their services.
