First meeting: Participation in the first meeting on April 14, 15:00-16:00 is compulsory!
Aim: Discussing determinants of individual labor productivity as a consequence of individual decisions; covering studies analyzing human capital accumulation and the effects of ageing as well as illness; debating theoretical models and empirical evidence
Language: English
Literature: A preliminary list of books and papers that will be used during the course will be announced in the upcoming weeks (depending on the number of participants).
Methods: Partly lecture-style. Participants will also present and discuss papers.
Grading: Presentation and discussion.
Prerequisites: Principles of economics (microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics on the master level).

Presentations:
Each student will present a paper. During this presentation the student should mainly address four points: (i) the theoretical framework, (ii) the empirical/experimental design, (iii) present the results, and (iv) criticism to start the discussion. Presentations should be informative, entertaining, clear and concise, and should last for about 25 min. Each presentation is followed with an informal, all- involving discussion of about 20min. The slides will be made available for all students.
