Sound Check 2
Perfect the “music” of your English pronunciation
Content and aims
Do you ever wonder if your accent is OK when speaking at international meetings? Have you noticed German speakers sometimes sound a little “staccato” when they speak English? Do native speakers really talk that fast or do they just “drop” sounds here and there? And what about all those ups and downs? How can you copy that without sounding strange?
Come and check out the “Melody of English”, try it out for yourself, get feedback and lots of practical tips.
In this fun, hands-on webinar you will learn about sentence patterns—three key differences to German
• rhythm
• linking
• melody
and combine these with the right sounds and word stress (e.g. from “Sound Check 1”).
You will practise all this in useful and meaningful ways, e.g. phrases for meetings and everyday situations.
Working method
• Analysing spoken language—How do native speakers say it?
• Lots of practice and individual feedback
• Useful pronunciation rules (Yes, there are some of those!)
• Optional online follow-up and tips for further practice
Technical requirements:
• PC / laptop / tablet / smartphone (possibly private) with camera and microphone as well as internet access, headphones are recommended
• Webinar software platform Zoom or similar
