You probably know many actors, singers, scientists (Wissenschaftler), artists (Künstler) and other stars. Many of them might call Great Britain their home.

Let’s start with music. This is Adele. She is a singer-song- writer from England. She has won many prizes – one of them was the Oscar for Best Original Song! Now look for Ed Sheeran, another famous singer-songwriter.

This is Hugh. But although he is also a British actor, his last name is Laurie.

Coldplay are a successful British band. You have probably heard some of their songs, like ‘The Scientist’ or ‘A sky full of stars’. The band was started in the 1990s and today it is known all over the world. Now let’s get to film. Look

Joanne K. Rowling had worked as an author for some time when she started writing about Harry Potter. Her books about this young wizard (Zauberer) made her rich and famous. Next we are looking for a famous British football player. His first name is David.

Stephen Hawking was a famous physicist ( Physiker). He wrote books which explained difficult scientific ( wissenschaftlich) ideas about black holes (Löcher) and other theories. Now we are looking for another author, a playwright (Theaterautor) called William Shakespeare.
