Alfred Klemm, 15.2.1913 – 23.2.2013

With great sadness and heavy heart we have to inform that Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Alfred Klemm, the founder of Zeitschrift f¨ur Naturforschung – now ZNA, ZNB, and ZNC – has passed away on Saturday, 23rd of February 2013. A great physicist, highly esteemed col- league and friend, and wonderful personality has left us a few days after his 100th birthday on February 15th, which Zeitschrift f¨ur Naturforschung has celebrated with a special issue, ZNA, Volume68a, Issue 1/2.

Our condolences go to his family, friends, colleagues, and students. His legacy and memory will stay with us as long as we live.
