Kaiser Wilhelm II in Hamburg
H-ArtHist (Sedlarz) Dear Listmembers,
I am looking for photographs of a visit Kaiser Wilhelm II made to Hamburg on June 17, 1912. Although the trip was reported in the local newspapers, these articles were not accompanied by images. I do not know for sure that photographs were, in fact, taken, but, given the Kaiser's penchant for
photographic documentation of his public appearances (weather permitting), I have the strong hope that they were.
The filmmaker Peter Schamonis recently obtained access to Wilhelm II's archives in Holland which supplied the wealth of photographic material heused for the film "Majestät brauchen Sonne." I would like to contact this archive but do not know how to do so. If anyone has specific information on the archive, or can provide any further suggestions on additional photo archives or sources I might check, I would be extremely grateful.
