D i e Ausgabe umfaßt d i e Bücher I-X d e r e r s t e n F a s s u n g ; das von d e r U b e r l i e f e r u n g h e r b e s o n d e r e Probleme a u f w e r f e n d e Buch XI sowie d i e spätere U m a r b e i t u n g des Gesamtwerkes m i t e i n e r ümordnung i n s e c h s Bücher s o l l e n i n einem z w e i t e n Band f o l g e n . Somit l i e g t nun- mehr das b e i E . S t e i n m e y e r im d r i t t e n Band, S. 58-173 (dazu der N a c h t r a g im fünften Band, S. 33-37), veröffentlichte M a t e r i a l d e r von ihm s o genannten F a s s u n g A neu e d i e r t v o r . Schon das Verhältnis d e r b e i E . S t e i n m e y e r b e a n s p r u c h t e n S e i t e n z a h l e n z u den über v i e r h u n d e r t S e i t e n d e r Ausgabe von R. H i l d e b r a n d t z e i g t den Umfang und d i e Bedeutung des l a t e i - n i s c h e n K o n t e x t e s . E r s t m i t d e r V e r ö f f e n t l i c h u n g d i e s e s K o n t e x t e s w i r d e i n e genaue V o r s t e l l u n g über das Gesamtwerk m ö g l i c h . Das V e r d i e n s t , den T e x t des Summariums i n s g e s a m t zugänglich und d u r c h f o r t l a u f e n d e M a r g i n a l v e r w e i s e d i e Q u e l - l e n für den T e x t k e n n t l i c h gemacht zu haben, i s t wohl e i n e der w e s e n t l i c h s t e n L e i s t u n g e n d e r Neuausgabe.
Das h a n d s c h r i f t l i c h e M a t e r i a l , das d e r T e x t e d i t i o n zugrunde l i e g t , g e h t e b e n f a l l s über das b e i E . S t e i n m e y e r veröffent- l i c h t e h i n a u s , d e r 16 H a n d s c h r i f t e n und H a n d s c h r i f t e n f r a g m e n - t e b e n u t z t h a t t e . Davon haben s i c h nun zwei Fragmente (0 = Bonn S 476 und P = B e r n 722, 1) a l s ursprünglich zu e i n e r H a n d s c h r i f t gehörig e r w e i s e n l a s s e n , zu denen noch e i n d r i t t e s Bruchstück ( b e i R. H i l d e b r a n d t P2 = Zürich Z XIV 26 [29 b e i R. H i l d e b r a n d t i s t D r u c k f e h l e r ] ) t r i t t , das k e i n e a l t h o c h - d e u t s c h e n G l o s s e n enthält. Darüberhinaus b a s i e r t d i e Neuaus- gabe a u f zwei w e i t e r e n von E . S t e i n m e y e r übersehenen T e x t - zeugen: H a n d s c h r i f t U (Nürnberg 27773) , d e r e n G l o s s e n zu Buch I I , K a p i t e l 12, b e r e i t s von W. W a t t e n b a c h4 veröffentlicht worden s i n d , und H a n d s c h r i f t V ( E r l a n g e n 3 9 6 ) , d i e das
Summarium f a s t vollständig enthält und d i e s i c h nach R. H i l d e - b r a n d t5 a l s 'der b e s t e T e x t z e u g e1 e r w i e s e n haben s o l l . Auf V

H i l d e b r a n d t i n dem s c h o n genannten A u f s a t z7 a u s - führlich b e h a n d e l t worden i s t , i s t e i n w e i t e r e r d u r c h d i e Neuausgabe e r b r a c h t e r Gewinn.
D i e Angaben zu den H a n d s c h r i f t e n stützen s i c h w e i t g e h e n d a u f d i e B e s c h r e i b u n g e n E . S t e i n m e y e r s ; d i e Überprüfung v o r a l l e m auch d e r D a t i e r u n g s a n g a b e n s o l l dem g e p l a n t e n U n t e r -

s u c h u n g s b a n d v o r b e h a l t e n b l e i b e n . F r e i l i c h hätte i n den Fällen, i n denen n e u e r e D a t i e r u n g e n v o r l i e g e n , a u f d i e s e A n - gaben v e r w i e s e n werden s o l l e n . So stammt d i e H a n d s c h r i f t A

D i e b e i d e n Blätter des H e i d e l b e r g e r Summarium-Fragments i n K l e i n - Q u a r t , von denen l e d i g l i c h das von moderner Hand m i t d e r Z a h l 27 v e r s e h e n e B l a t t d i e ursprüngliche Z e i l e n z a h l von 38 Z e i l e n a u f w e i s t , während das m i t 26 n u m e r i e r t e B l a t t d u r c h V e r l u s t des o b e r e n B l a t t e i l s n u r noch 27 Z e i l e n ( d i e o b e r s t e Z e i l e n u r unvollständig) enthält, haben nach den Angaben von F.
