You can set to convert received documents into PDF format and save them in an external memory device connected to the printer.

Important:

Received documents are saved in the printer's memory temporarily before the documents are saved in the memory device connected to the printer. Because a memory full error disables sending and receiving faxes, keep the memory device connected to the printer. The number of documents that have saved in the printer's memory temporarily is displayed on the on the home screen.

1. Connect an external memory device to the printer.

2. Tap Settings on the home screen.

3. Tap General Settings > Fax Settings > Receive Settings > Save/Forward Settings.

4. Tap for an unregistered box under Conditional Save/Forward.

5. Tap a Name box and enter the name you want to register.

6. Tap the Condition(s) to make a condition setting.

❏ Sender Fax Number match: If the incoming fax number matches the conditions you selected in this item, the printer saves and forwards the received faxes.

Select Sender Fax Number match condition and enter the fax number (max. 20 digits) by tapping the Fax Number box.

❏ Subaddress(SUB) perfect match: If the subaddress (SUB) is a perfect match, the printer saves and forwards the received faxes.

Enable the Subaddress(SUB) perfect match setting and enter the password by tapping the Subaddress(SUB) box.

❏ Password(SID) perfect match: If the password (SID) is perfectly matched, the printer saves and forwards the received faxes.

Enable the Password(SID) perfect match setting and input the password by tapping the Password(SID) box.

❏ Receiving Time: The printer saves and forwards received faxes during the specified time period.

Enable the Receiving Time setting and then set the time in Start Time and End Time.

7. Tap Save/Forward Destination box.

8. Tap Save to Memory Device.

9. Tap the Save to Memory Device box to set this to On.

10. Check the message displayed on the screen, and then tap Create.

A folder to save received documents is created in the memory device.

11. Tap OK three times to return to the Save/Forward Settings screen.

12. Tap the registered box for which you made a condition setting, and then tap Enable.

Forwarding Received Faxes (Conditional Save/Forward)

You can set to forward received documents to another fax machine, or convert the documents into PDF format and forward them to a shared folder on a network or to an email address. Forwarded documents are deleted from the printer. First register the forwarding destinations to the contacts list. To forward to an email address, you also need to configure the email server settings.

Note:

Color documents cannot be forwarded to another fax machine. They are processed as documents that failed to be forwarded.

Before you use this feature, make sure the printer's Date/Time and Time Difference settings are correct. Access the menus from Settings > General Settings > Basic Settings > Date/Time Settings.

1. Tap Settings on the home screen.

2. Tap General Settings > Fax Settings > Receive Settings > Save/Forward Settings.

3. Tap for an unregistered box under Conditional Save/Forward.

4. Tap a Name box and enter the name you want to register.

5. Tap the Condition(s) box to make a condition setting.

❏ Sender Fax Number match: If the incoming fax number matches the conditions you selected in this item, the printer saves and forwards the received faxes.

Enable the Password(SID) perfect match setting and input the password by tapping the Password(SID) box.

❏ Receiving Time: The printer saves and forwards received faxes during the specified time period.

Enable the Receiving Time setting and then set the time in Start Time and End Time.

6. Tap Save/Forward Destination box.

7. Tap Forward.

8. Tap Forward to set this to On.

9. Tap Add Entry.

10. Select forwarding destinations from the contacts list.

Note:

You can specify one forwarding destination only.

11. When you have finished selecting the forwarding destination, tap Close.

12. Check that the forwarding destination you selected is correct, and then tap Close.

13. In Options When Forwarding Failed, select whether to print received documents or save them in the printer's inbox when forwarding fails.

Important:

When the inbox is full, sending and receiving faxes is disabled. You should delete the documents from the inbox once they have been checked. The number of documents that have failed to be forwarded is displayed on the

on the home screen, in addition to other unprocessed jobs.

14. Tap OK three times to return to the Save/Forward Settings screen.

15. Tap the registered box for which you made a condition setting, and then tap Enable.

16. When forwarding to an email address, you can specify a subject for the email. Tap Common Settings, tap the box under Forward Settings, and then enter the subject.

Note:

If you have selected a shared folder on a network or an email address as the forwarding destination, we recommend that you test if you can send a scanned image to the destination in the scan mode. Select Scan > Email, or Scan >

Network Folder/FTP from the home screen, select the destination, and then start scanning.

You can set to receive a new fax notification on a Windows computer when received documents are saved to a shared folder on a network. Use FAX Utility to make the settings. For details, see the help of FAX Utility.
