OPENING MORE THAN ONE DOCUMENT

Im Dokument TABLE OF CONTENTS (Seite 73-79)

You can simplify operations that involve more than one document by opening and displaying several documents at once. For example, moving or copying text from one document to another is easier if both documents appear on the screen simultaneously.

You can have up to seven documents open at one time. The system opens a separate window, with its own Document status line, for each document. Initially, the amount of text in each window depends on the number of documents on the

screen; however, the system includes function key operations for adjusting the size of windows (refer to Adjusting Window Size, later in this section).

On hard disk systems, when you begin a word processing session from the Executive, the system displays the Open Document form (refer to figure 2-3) that allows you to open as many as seven documents (refer to Opening Documents from the Executive, earlier in this section).

When you begin a word processing session from the Initial Word Processor Screen, you can open only one document at a time (refer to Opening Documents from the Initial Word Processor Screen, earlier in this section). Subsequently, however, you can open more documents.
