Marcel Janco was a central figure of the Dada movement in Zurich and one of the most signifi- cant developers of Dadaist visual and material aesthetics. Immigrating to Palestine from Romania in 1941, he had also become an influential figure in shaping the new Jewish nation's artistic and architectural agenda. One of Janco's long-lasting contributions was the foundation of the art com- munity in Ein Hod - a previously Arabic village. The shift from the nihilist, destructive mindset of Dada to the "halutzim" (pioneers) ethos of Jewish settlement in Israel is an intriguing one and evokes many questions. In particular, Janco's engagement with architecture and urban planning and his innovative approach in such fields is worth reconsidering.

This book-in-progress, a collaboration of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Janco-Dada Museum in Ein Hod, aims to trace down the genealogy, both pronounced and hidden, of Marcel Janco and the Dada movement up to the 21st century. It suggests a fresh look at Dada and its lat- er and current implications across disciplines and media.

We welcome scholarly essays which refer to one (or more) of these three trajectories:

- Marcel Janco and Dadaist Architecture.

- Dada as Society, Culture and Geography.

- Dadaist Manifestations in Contemporary Art.
