The Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Belgium (Brussels) are looking to recruit a RMFAB-Getty Cura- torial Fellow with a special interest in Belgian art on paper of the period 1868 – 1914 (Fin-de-Siè- cle Museum).
The position and project are integrated in the collection “Works on Paper Modern Art (19th to 21st – century)” which holds about 9.000 works in total and comprises mainly drawings, pastels and watercolors, as well as photographs and prints from artist born 1748 and later.
The two-years-fellowship funded by the Getty Foundation will enable the Fellow to participate in a range of curatorial activities related to the collection of ‘works on paper modern art’ in the Depart- ment Collection and Research and to assist the curator of the collection in general. Accordingly, the grant will support full curatorial training in areas such as cataloguing in order to complete the digital catalogue, collections management, research, rotating temporary displays and acquisi- tions. In particular, the fellow will follow the preparation of the rotations in the Fin-de-Siècle Muse- um. The fellowship will primarily involve to inventory in detail larger compounds of works as well as reviewing and building catalogue entries and object files related to the collection of art on paper of the period 1870 - 1910.

Les Musées royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique cherchent à recruter un MRBAB-Getty Curatorial Fellow ayant un intérêt particulier pour l'art belge sur papier de la période 1868 - 1914 (Musée Fin- de-Siècle).
Le poste et le projet sont prévus dans la collection « Œuvres sur papier - Art moderne (du 19e au 21e siècle) » qui réunit environ 9 000 œuvres au total et comprend principalement des dessins, des pastels et des aquarelles, ainsi que des photographies et des estampes d'artistes nés à partir de 1748.
La bourse de deux ans financée par la Fondation Getty permettra au boursier de participer à une série d'activités dans le domaine de la conservation liées à la collection d'« œuvres d'art moderne sur papier » dans le département Collection et recherche et d'aider le conservateur de la collection en général. En conséquence, la bourse soutiendra la formation complète en conservation d’œu- vres d’art sur paper dans des domaines tels que le catalogage afin de compléter le catalogue numérique, la gestion des collections, la recherche, la rotation des expositions temporaires et les acquisitions. Le boursier suivra notamment la préparation des rotations au Musée Fin-de-Siècle . La bourse consistera principalement à inventorier en détail de grands ensembles d'œuvres ainsi qu'à examiner et à constituer des entrées de catalogue et des dossiers d'objets liés à la collection d'art sur papier de la période 1870 - 1910.

De betrekking en het project zijn geïntegreerd in de collectie "Werken op papier Moderne Kunst (19e tot 21e eeuw)” die in totaal ongeveer 9.000 werken bevat en voornamelijk bestaat uit tekenin- gen, pastels en aquarellen, evenals uit foto's en prenten van kunstenaars die in of na 1748 zijn geboren.
Het door de Getty Foundation gefinancierde Fellowship stelt de Fellow in staat om deel te nemen aan een reeks curatoriële activiteiten met betrekking tot de collectie ‘werken op papier moderne kunst’ in het Departement Collectie en Onderzoek en om de curator van de collectie in het alge- meen bij te staan. De beurs ondersteunt dan ook een volledige curatoropleiding op het gebied van bijvoorbeeld catalogisering om de digitale catalogus te vervolledigen, het collectiebeheer, het onderzoek, de roterende tijdelijke opstellingen en de aankopen. In het bijzonder zal de Fellow de voorbereiding van de rotaties in het Fin-de-Siècle Museum volgen. Het Fellowship zal voornameli- jk betrekking hebben op het tot in detail inventariseren van grotere samenstellingen van werken, alsmede op het beoordelen en opbouwen van catalogusingaves en objectdossiers met betrekking tot de collectie kunst op papier uit de periode 1870 - 1910.
