Shopping day
Today is shopping day. Mary writes a long shopping list.
Stop writing! The dog food is on the list. Let’s go!
I jump into Marys little black car.
She throws a box and three big bags on the backseat.
Her handbag with the money lies next to her on the frontseat.
Then she turns the key and off we go!
It’s sunny. I see a lot of people.
The parking place in front of the supermarket is full.
Mary goes inside and I must wait – for a long, long time ...
I think I have a nap.
Who? Why? What is it?
Oh, Mary is back. She opens the door.
The boxes of water into the trunk ...
I can smell eggs, milk, butter, cucumber, tomatoes and bread ...
“Gilbert, I forgot something“, Mary says.
“I know something is missing.“
Don’t worry! I check it.
I hold my nose up in the air.
You always forget something.

On the farm
Mary’s and Rick’s friend Valery lives on a farm.
She has got two children: Stella and Josh.
On the farm there are many animals.
In summer we all go there for a one week holiday.
I like the farm! The smell is wonderful.
I can smell cows and pigs.
Six sheep and five goats are outside.
Four cats run around to catch mice.
Josh must feed the hens and ducks.
Stella rides a pony.
Valery has got two big horses – a brown and a black and white one.
But the best is my dog-friend Kelly.
Oh, boy, she is so big and black all over!
Everybody is afraid of her.
We go for long walks.
She shows me the fields and the forest.
We hunt rabbits and birds.
In the village there is a butcher.
At his backdoor you can find the tastiest things!
On a sunny day Rick, Mary, and I take Kelly out for a picnic.
Mary puts a lot of good things into a basket.
Then we walk to a nice place on a hill.
We have lunch and while Rick and Mary sleep, Kelly and I have a look around.
Smells! Smells everywhere!
We drink from a small river and crawl into foxes’ holes.
Suddenly something runs over Kelly’s feet.
Kelly jumps up in panic. This big dog cries like a baby!
She runs back and hops onto Rick and Mary.
Mary and Rick are wet and dirty.
I must laugh. They look so silly!
Ahhhhh! What’s this?
A mouse! It’s a mouse!
Rick, Mary, help me!
