Important information for users funded within NMI3
As a condition of accepting EU support for this experiment, you must agree to the following conditions. In case of any question please consult the PSI user office: sinq@psi.ch, smus@psi.ch
1. Acknowledgement statement
The NMI3 project must be acknowledged in any papers or conference proceedings that are published as a result of this work. The following paragraph should be included in the acknowledgments section:
‘This research project has been supported by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme through the 'Research Infrastructures' action of the 'Capacities' Programme, contract No: CP-CSA_INFRA-2008-1.1.1 Number 226507-NMI3. This statement does not replace the proper acknowledgement of PSI/SINQ/SµS. Please also remember to register any publication that is based on results obtained at the PSI facilities through the Digital User Office tool
‘DUO’.
2. Completion of the experimental report
An experimental report is mandatory for a funded experiment and must be provided by the latest at the end of the calendar year of the funded experiment or in case of a continuation proposal together with the new proposal.
Experimental reports should solely be submitted via ‘DUO’ in the following way:
1) Login to DUO: https://duo.psi.ch
2) Within the box 'proposals' please follow the link: 'Experimental reports'
3) You receive a list of your proposals with an indication, which proposals have received EU funding
4) Select the funded proposal(s) and please fill in the report(s) for those. Save your action by one of the 'save' buttons at the bottom of the webpage. For SINQ and SµS pdf- files must be uploaded. Templates can be downloaded during the submission procedure.
Please note: for the NMI3 annual reports the “abstract” of the uploaded experimental reports will be used as description for the experimental achievements. The full report will be stored in DUO and can be made available on the SINQ/SµS webpages and is also transmitted to the proposal review committees for the evaluation of future proposals.
3. User group questionnaire
After the experiment, you are required to complete an EU NMI3 satisfaction report. This can be found online at: http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/capacities/questionnaire_en.html. Please use ‘NMI3 226507’ as EC contract number and the following syntax for the user project acronym:
SINQ/SµS_proposal number, e.g. SINQ/SµS_20060453.
4. Data protection
You are required to provide some personal data, which will be recorded and used for the purposes indicated below. The data will be processed for funding, statistical and administrative purposes connected with your research, and to statistically analyze the membership of the neutron scattering community. The data are collected by the NMI3 project manager on behalf of the European Commission, and therefore may be accessed by the NMI3 project coordinators and the European Commission for official use only, and will remain confidential. Your personal data will be kept safe and secure and will not be shared with other organizations without your knowledge, unless this is required by law. If your e-mail address is requested, this is solely for the purpose of conducting a mid-term review if necessary, and it will not be divulged to any third party, or used for marketing purposes.
