Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to the 13thCongress on Central and Eastern Europe, which traditionally takes place within the framework of the EURO FINANCE WEEK.
The global economic downturn had seriously impacted most of the Central and Eastern European countries. However, many countries in CEE have again returned to the economic growth path. CEE countries now have the opportunity to amend the growth model whose underlying vulnerabilities had been revealed by the financial crisis.
Under the conference’s motto »New Opportunities in CEE« the current challenges in the region, the approaches to solidify the current positive tendency as well as the prospects for further sustainable economic growth will be discussed.
High profile bankers of development institutions, central banks and the private banking sector as well as politicians, investors, insurance and stock exchange experts and last but not least representatives from the industry will share their views on the opportunities CEE is facing in the near future.
I would like to thank all speakers for accepting our invitation to participate in this congress and I look very much forward to welcoming you to the congress.
Dr. Nader Maleki President
