DATAPOINT 1800 DISPERSED PROCESSOR

A flexible combination of powerful hardware and comprehensive software, the Datapoint 1BOO Dispersed Processor offers a wide range of data processing capabilities at a low cost. As a stand- alone system, as part of an Attached Resource Computer™ system, or as a member of a network, the 1 BOO Dispersed Processor is an easy to use system that can grow with the business it serves.

The 1 BOO's advanced processor provides the basic control functions for the system, and is com-

plemented by 60K bytes of user memory. Double density diskette storage may be expanded from the standard one million characters up to four million.

The large, easy to read video display screen is fully programmable, and can display inverse video (dark characters on a light background). The 1BOO keyboard is organized in the standard typewriter layout, and is detachable for further operator con- venience. The 1BOO's five interactive function keys may be used for tab or cursor positioning or for program control. The 1 BOO communications interface supports both auto-answer and auto-dial operations in synchronous and asynchronous line protocols including SDLC.

A comprehensive array of software complements the advanced hardware design of the 1 BOO

Dispersed Processor. DATAFORM® and Interactive COBOL may be used for intelligent data entry. Programs written in Assembler, BASIC, COBOL, RPG, and DATABUS® satisfy a wide variety of data processing requirements. Batch teleprocessing is accomplished with 27BO, 37BO, HASP, and RES emulation; real-time operations can be conducted with MULTILlNKTM. UNITERM teletype emulation provides interactive capabilities. In addition, the DATAPOLL®

package may be used for Datapoint-to-Datapoint network operations.

The powerful Disk Operating System provides a framework for all operations, and insures that 1BOO files are compatible with all Datapoint disk-based systems (1 BOO programs are compatible with all larger Datapoint systems). Datapoint's DATAC- COUNTANpM General Ledger, Payroll and Professional Time Accounting packages are also available for use with the 1 BOO.

As a further advantage, the 1BOO is compatible with the Attached Resource Computer system, which links Datapoint processors to form integrated systems of virtually limitless size. As part of an ARCTM system, to all system resources, including the common database, printing facilities, and communications links.

Additionally, the Datapoint 1 BOO Dispersed Processor may be used with a wide variety of Datapoint

peripherals, including line, belt, and matrix printers, magnetic tape units, and others.
