DIE COVID-19-SCHUTZIMPFUNG COVID-19 VACCINATION
HOW EFFECTIVE ARE THE VACCINES?
Getting vaccinated protects you from becoming severely ill or dying. If you get infected despite the vaccination, the illness will be very mild or asymptomatic. The vaccines are also effective against the variant strains that are present in Germany.
ARE THE VACCINES SAFE?
All the Covid-19 vaccines used in Germany have undergone a rigorous approval process. They are thoroughly checked for efficacy, quality and safety, and are just as safe as other vaccines.
WHO CAN GET VACCINATED AND WHO PAYS FOR IT?
Vaccination is voluntary, free of charge and available to all residents aged 12+.
WHAT SIDE EFFECTS SHOULD I EXPECT?
After being vaccinated, you may have side effects for a few days. These can include pain around the injection site, fever and headache. This is a sign that the body is producing antibodies. Long-term side effects are very, very rare. A Covid-19 vaccine is far less risky than a Covid-19 infection.
HOW DOES THE VACCINATION PROCESS WORK?
Most of the vaccines require two doses, given at an interval of several weeks.
