The plastic rubbish bag was invented by Canadian Harry Wasyly~, from Winnipeg, in 1950.

The zipper on your jeans or iochet was invented in Canada by Gideon Sundbock in 1913.

The use of insulin to help diabetics was discovered in Canada in 1922 by Frederich Banting and Charles Best.

(2) Canada is the world's second-Iargest country. It has the perfect mix of nature and culture. Only 33 million people live in Canada, but they come from all over the world. They bring their traditions with them and they've got lots of space to live their own way. There are English-speaking Canadians, French-speaking Canadians and aboriginals.

almost one million.

Have you ever heard of this sport?

Some people say lacrosse is the oldest sport in the world, for others it's the fastest one on two feet.

In fact, the first people who

played lacrosse were Canada's aboriginals. They played it to honour the "Great Spirit", to thank their god. Later lots of immigrants learned about the game and played it for

fun. Soon it was so popular that it became Canada's

official sport in 1859.There are four types: field, women's field, boxand Inter-Crosse.
