Department: Geo-Spatial Sciences and Technology

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: Geo-Information Technology Requirements

Lecturer: A relevant Master’s degree (NQF level 9) with at least four years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. A Doctorate as well as programming skills and expertise in project management will be advantageous. Ability to teach any GIS and Remote Sensing related courses at under-and post-graduate levels.

Requirements

Senior Lecturer: A relevant Doctorate (NQF level 10) with at least six years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Ability to teach any GIS and Remote Sensing related courses at under-and post-graduate levels. Experience in WebGIS, Spatial Data Infrastructure and Urban Applications Monitoring. Programming skills and expertise in project management. Experience in initiating research projects, sourcing of funding and strong managerial/organisational skills.

Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and use of software for Geodetic Transformations and Least Squares Network Adjustment. Experience in initiating research projects, sourcing of funding and strong managerial/organisational skills.
