"After Cage - 30 collections in motion" is looking for a coordinator in projectmanagement
Our profile:
The project "30 collections in motion (after John Cage)", working title After Cage, is an initiative of Neuer Aachener Kunstverein NAK in Aachen (D), Z 33 in Hasselt (B), Espace 251 Nord in Liège (B) und MARRES in
Maastricht (NL). Goal is the conception and accomplishment of an exhibition series in around 20 museums, collections and exhibition instiutions of the Maas-Rhein region with two collaborative symposias, catalogue and
Internetpresentation in a timeframe from 2005 to 2007. Objects from various collections and archives of the region will herfore get combined - on the basis of a chance indicator, as a free modification of a concept of John Cage (Roly Wholy Over a Circus, 1993), which will produce a process of
permantly new connections and the experiment of a complete cultural memory.
The project is supported by the European Union in the program INTERREG as a pilote project for euregional cooperation, initially for a duration of 27
month, and which is thought to produce lasting structures.
Tasks:
in cooperation with the project manager and the project partners - Realization of two interdisciplinary symposias
- Evaluation of the collections and archives of the participating institutions of the project "After Cage"
- Developement and realization of a specific projectrelated database - Internet presentation
- Coordination of the exhibition series - Catalogue management
- Administration of the project - Acquisition of subsidies Your profile:
- university degree in the fields culturemanagement /- marketing, Public-Relations, Cultural sciences / Humanities,
- sucessful professional experience of project management in a cultural

- profound knowledge in using new media and their applications, databases and digital archiving
- administrative knowledge and experience with financial controlling, - selected experience in sponsoring
- high level of communication- and teamwork skills as well as enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation
- very high level of organistion skills and flexibility
- independent, solutions oriented and diplomatic working style - Multilingualism: english, french, dutch/flemish
We offer:
- a challenging and all-round collaboration in a pilot project of the EU - a full-time contract (24 months) with working place in Liège (B) or Maastricht (NL)
