Preliminary Remark

On behalf of the German Eastern Business Association, forsa Politik- und Sozialforschung GmbH conducted a representative survey on the opinions and attitudes of German citizens regarding relations with Russia.

Within the framework of the survey, a total of 1,001 men and women aged 18 and over in the Federal Republic of Germany, selected by a systematic random

procedure, were interviewed.

The survey was conducted from 29 April to 10 May 2021 using computer-assisted telephone interviews. The results of the survey are presented in the following report.

The results obtained can be transferred to the entire adult population in Germany with the error tolerances possible in all sample surveys (in this case +/ -3 percentage points).

Opinions on the construction of "Nord Stream 2"

The USA is currently trying to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline through economic sanctions against the companies involved.

As in the previous year, a large majority of Germans (75 per cent) continue to believe that the Nord Stream 2 pipeline should be completed even in the face of opposition from the USA.

17 percent are of the opinion that the pipeline should not be completed.

The "Nord Stream 2" natural gas pipeline should be completed even against the resistance of the USA
