Y12 - additional screens
Additional screens have been installed at the entrance and exit of the storage ring injection septum. At each a pair of laser-cut CO-netic screens has been mounted. The magnetic screening could be improved by a factor of about 5...6 at the most critical locations close to the magnet ends.

At each end of the magnet were 2 CO-Netic shields mounted with a spacing of 30mm. Smaller spacing of below 5mm reduced the shielding effect considerably. Figure 1 demonstrates the remaining leakage field at the stored and at the bumped beam position.

Measurement runs, along the stored as well as the bumped beam position compare in figure 2 and 3 the leakage field with and without additional shields.
