Museum Director/Art Historian

DICKINSON COLLEGE, The Trout Gallery

Faculty appointment, tenure track. Associate Prof., or Assistant level with more than three years experience, salary compet.; excellent benefits including TIAA-CREF, sabbaticals, eligibility for research and development grants. Start July 1, 2002. Ph.D. in art history with several years broad museum experience and record of publications.

Director's responsibilities include: manage all aspects of active museum program, short and long-range planning, changing exhibitions,

collections management (over 6000 objects in permanent collection), interdisciplinary programming, budget, acquisitions, and grant writing.

Supervise museum staff: 3 full-time, 2 part-time plus student assistants/interns. Prior or current teaching experience at the

College/University level required. Teach one course per semester in art history program in area of specialization and museum-related topics.
