18 th ZEW Summer Workshop for Young Economists Call for Papers
The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is pleased to invite submissions for its 18th Summer Workshop for Young Economists in Mannheim on July 4 to 7, 2016. This year’s objective is to discuss recent developments and empirical applications of structural models for policy evaluation. The workshop aims at bringing together promising international doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows for four days of intense training by renowned international scholars. The summer school will include lectures by three leading econ- omists and paper presentations allowing the participants to present and discuss their work, and get advice from the lecturers.
Young scholars who wish to attend the workshop are invited to submit a paper. Papers should use a struc- tural approach to the evaluation of economic policies. We particularly welcome applications from the fields of labour economics and public finance.

Participants: Advanced doctoral students and postdocs within three years after completion of their the- sis are invited to submit a paper. The ZEW Summer Workshop is open to a maximum of 20 participants.
There are no participation fees. However, travel and accommodation expenses have to be covered by the participants. Researchers interested in participating should submit a full paper version (preliminary vesions are welcome) and a CV no later than April 1, 2016 via www.zew.de/summerworkshop2016.

During the summer workshop, the best paper will be honoured with the Heinz König Young Scholar Award, which is named after the late founding director of ZEW. An award ceremony will conclude the workshop.
The award is sponsored by Wolfgang Franz, the former president of ZEW and former chairman of the German Council of Economic Experts. The prize includes an endowment of 5.000 € as well as a three- month research visit to ZEW.
