Supplementary Instructions for Windows

This Supplementary Instructions explains where the operation of the computer will differ from that in the Operating Instructions.

NOTE

In this Supplementary Instructions, the names and terms are referred as follows.

• “Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 2 with Advanced Security Technologies” and

“Microsoft® Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition 2005” as

“Windows XP”

• “Windows Vista® Business” as “Windows Vista”

This computer is provided the license of Microsoft®

Windows Vista® Business (including a downgrade right to Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional).

The supplied accessories ( Operating Instructions “First-time Operation”)

The following accessory is supplied.

• Product Recovery DVD-ROM Windows Vista® Business <For localized OS model> ... 1 <For MUI OS model> ... 2 The following accessory is NOT supplied.

• Windows® Book

Installing Windows Vista

Follow the steps below to install Windows Vista.

NOTE

• When you install Windows Vista, the hard disk data will be erased.

Back up important data to other media or an external hard disk before installation.

• To correctly operate “First-time operation for Windows Vista” ( Step 14), please download the Operating Instructions for the Windows Vista model before installation.

Preparation

• Prepare the Product Recovery DVD-ROMs (includ- ed).

• Remove all peripherals (except for the CD/DVD drive).

• Connect the AC adaptor and do not remove it until installation is complete.

1 Reinstall Windows XP to the whole HDD to factory default. ( Operating Instructions supplied with your computer “Reinstalling Software”)

2 When the message [[Recovery] is complete.] ap- pears, remove the Product Recovery DVD-ROM for Windows XP, and set the Product Recovery DVD-ROM for Windows Vista.

3 Press any key to turn off the computer.

If you turn off the computer without replacing the Product Recovery DVD-ROM or performing fi rst-time

operation for Windows XP, refer to “Reinstalling Soft- ware” in the Operating Instructions supplied with your computer, and boot the computer from the Product Recovery DVD-ROM for Windows Vista.

4 Turn on the computer.

5 Click [Reinstall Windows.] and click [Next].

The License Agreement screen appears.

6 Click [Yes, I agree to the provisions above and wish to continue!] and click [Next].

7 Select [Reinstall Windows to the whole Hard Disk to factory default.] and click [Next].

Do not select [Reinstall Windows to the operating system partition.]

8 At the confi rmation message, click [YES].

Installation starts automatically. (It will take approxi- mately 20-60 minutes.)

• Do not interrupt installation, for example by turning off the computer. Otherwise installation may become unavailable as Windows may not start up or the data may be corrupted.

9 Remove the Product Recovery DVD-ROM, and then click [OK] to turn off the computer.

10 <Only for CF-19 and CF-T7 series>

Remove the CD/DVD drive.

11 Turn on the computer, and press F2 while [Panasonic] boot screen is displayed.

The Setup Utility starts up.

• If the password is requested, enter the Supervisor Password.

12 Press F9.

At the confi rmation message, select [Yes] and then press Enter.

The Setup Utility settings excluding the password(s) will return to the default values.

13 Press F10.

At the confi rmation message, select [Yes] and press Enter.

The Setup Utility will close, and the computer will restart.

14 Perform the fi rst-time operation for Windows Vista.

15 Start the Setup Utility and change the settings as necessary.

16 Perform Windows Update.

Installation von Windows Vista

Führen Sie die folgenden Schritte aus, um Windows Vista zu installieren.

HINWEIS

• Wenn Sie Windows Vista installieren, werden die Daten vom Festplattenspeicher gelöscht.

Vor der Installation sollten Sie daher ein Backup wichtiger Daten auf ein anderes Speichermedium oder eine externe Festplatte durchführen.

( Schritt 14) richtig durchzuführen, laden Sie bitte erst die Bedienungsanleitung für Windows Vista herunter, bevor Sie die Installation starten.

Vorbereitung

• Bereiten Sie die Product Recovery DVD-ROMs vor (beigefügt).

• Entfernen Sie alle Peripherie-Geräte (abgesehen von dem CD/DVD-Laufwerk).

• Schließen Sie das Netzteil an und entfernen Sie es nicht, bis die Installation vollständig abgeschlossen ist.

4 Schalten Sie den Computer ein.

Das Setup Utility startet.

• Wenn ein Passwort verlangt wird, geben Sie das Haupt-Passwort ein.

12 Drücken Sie F9.

9 Retirez le DVD-ROM de rétablissement du produit puis cliquez sur [OK] pour éteindre l’ordinateur.

10 <Uniquement pour les séries CF-19 et CF-T7>

Retirez le lecteur de CD/DVD.

11 Allumez l’ordinateur puis appuyez sur F2 pendant l’affi chage de l’écran de démarrage [Panasonic].

Le programme Setup Utility démarre.

• Si un mot de passe est requis, entrez le mot de passe administrateur.

12 Appuyez sur F9.

Quand s’affi che le message de confi rmation, sélectionnez [Yes] puis appuyez sur Entrée.

Les réglages du programme Setup Utility, sauf ceux relatifs au(x) mot(s) de passe, reprennent leurs valeurs par défaut.

13 Appuyez sur F10.

Installazione Windows Vista

Effettuare i passi elencati di seguito per installare Windows Vista.

ATTENZIONE

4 Włącz komputer.

5 Kliknij [Reinstall Windows.], a następnie [Next].

Pojawi się ekran umowy licencyjnej.

6 Kliknij [Yes, I agree to the provisions above and wish to continue!], a następnie [Next].

7 Wybierz [Reinstall Windows to the whole Hard Disk to factory default.], a następnie kliknij [Next].

Előkészítés

• Készítse elő a visszaállító DVD-ROM lemezt (tartozék).

• Távolítsa el az összes perifériát (kivéve a CD/DVD meghajtót).

• Csatlakoztassa váltakozó feszültségű adaptert, és ne távolítsa el, amíg a telepítés be nem fejeződik.

2 Amikor a [[Recovery] is complete.] üzenet jelenik meg, távolítsa el a Windows XP visszaállító DVD-ROM-ot, majd állítsa be a Windows Vista visszaállító DVD-ROM-ot.

3 Nyomjon meg egy billentyűt a számítógép kikapcsolásához.

Ha a visszaállító DVD-ROM cseréje nélkül vagy a Windows XP első működtetésének végrehajtásával kapcsolja ki a számítógépet, lásd „Szoftverek újratelepítése“ a számítógéppel szállított Használati utasításban, és indítsa el a számítógépet a Windows Vista visszaállító DVD-ROM-ról.

4 Kapcsolja be a számítógépet.

5 Kattintson a [Reinstall Windows.], majd a [Next]

elemre.

A Licencszerződés képernyő jelenik meg.

Prezentele Instrucţiuni suplimentare explică punctele în care operarea computerului va diferi de cea prezentată în Instrucţiunile de operare.

NOTĂ

În aceste Instrucţiuni suplimentare, denumirile şi termenii sunt utilizate prin convenţie după cum urmează.

• „Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Service Pack 2 cu Advanced Security Technologies” şi „Microsoft®

Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition 2005” sunt numite

„Windows XP”

• „Windows Vista® Business” este numit „Windows Vista”

Urmaţi paşii de mai jos pentru a instala Windows Vista.

Pregătire

• Pregătiţi DVD-ROM-urile pentru restaurarea produsului (incluse).

• Scoateţi toate dispozitivele periferice (cu excepţia unităţii CD/DVD).

• Conectaţi adaptorul de c.a. şi nu îl scoateţi până la fi nalizarea instalării.

1 Reinstalaţi Windows XP pentru întregul HDD pe setările din fabrică. ( Instrucţiunile de operare furnizate împreună cu computerul, secţiunea

„Reinstalarea programului”)

2 La apariţia mesajului [[Recovery] is complete.], scoateţi DVD-ROM-ul pentru restaurarea

produsului Windows XP şi introduceţi DVD-ROM- ul pentru restaurarea produsului Windows Vista.

3 Apăsaţi orice tastă pentru a opri computerul.

Dacă opriţi computerul fără a înlocui DVD-ROM-ul pentru restaurarea produsului, sau dacă operaţi prima oară Windows XP, consultaţi secţiunea

„Reinstalarea programului” din Instrucţiunile de operare furnizate împreună cu computerul, apoi reiniţializaţi computerul de pe DVD-ROM-ul pentru restaurarea produsului Windows Vista.

4 Porniţi computerul.

5 Faceţi clic pe [Reinstall Windows.], apoi pe [Next].

Apare ecranul Acord de licenţă.

6 Faceţi clic pe [Yes, I agree to the provisions above and wish to continue!], apoi pe [Next].

7 Selectaţi [Reinstall Windows to the whole Hard Disk to factory default.] şi faceţi clic pe [Next].

Nu selectaţi [Reinstall Windows to the operating system partition.]

8 La mesajul de confi rmare, faceţi clic pe [YES].

Instalarea începe automat. (Va dura aproximativ 20-60 de minute.)

• Nu întrerupeţi instalarea, de exemplu prin oprirea computerului. Dacă o veţi întrerupe, instalarea ar putea să devină indisponibilă, Windows neputând porni sau datele fi ind corupte.

9 Scoateţi DVD-ROM-ul pentru restaurarea

produsului, apoi faceţi clic pe [OK] pentru a opri computerul.

10 <Numai pentru seriile CF-19 şi CF-T7>

Scoateţi unitatea CD/DVD.

11 Opriţi computerul şi apăsaţi pe tasta F2 în timp ce se afi şează ecranul de iniţializare [Panasonic].

Se va porni programul Setup Utility.

• Dacă se solicită o parolă, introduceţi parola supervizorului.

12 Apăsaţi tasta F9.

La mesajul de confi rmare, selectaţi [Yes], apoi apăsaţi tasta Enter.

Setările din Setup Utility, cu excepţia parolei (parolelor), vor reveni la valorile implicite.

13 Apăsaţi tasta F10.

La mesajul de confi rmare, selectaţi [Yes] şi apăsaţi tasta Enter.

Setup Utility se va închide, iar computerul se va reiniţializa.

14 Efectuaţi prima operare a Windows Vista.

15 Porniţi Setup Utility şi schimbaţi setările, după necesităţi.

16 Efectuaţi Windows Update.
