Prof. Dr. E. Horak - On occasion of his 60th Anniversary

Prof. Dr. Egon Horak, member of the Editorial Board of Sydowia and one of the most distinguished mycologists working on the tax- onomy of the Agaricales, celebrates this year his 60th anniversary.

Egon Horak is curator of the mycological collections at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH: Herbarium ZT) in Zurich, Switzerland and his research on the taxonomy of Agaricales has produced an enormous amount of information, published in several journals. Egon is also the author of several books dealing with the taxonomy of Agaricales he has published either alone or in collaboration with other mycologists. He has also supervised several Ph.D. and Master theses at the ETH.

In addition to his research activity, Egon has been with Sydowia as Executive Editor from 1974 until 1989 and as an Associate Editor afterwards. As a token of gratitude and friendship, the Editorial Board would like to dedicate this issue to him. We hope that Sydo- wia will be able to count on Egon's help for many other years to come and we thank him for the assistance he has always given to us.
