Wachstum
Jeder Baum ist von Natur aus ein Unikat. Er weist Spu- ren seiner Umgebung und der Jahre auf, die er im Lau- fe seines Wachstums erlebt hat. Erst nach 80 Jahren hat der Baum seine Reife für hochwertige Möbelteile erreicht und wird im Rahmen einer forstwirtschaftlich sinnvollen und nachhaltigen Nutzung geerntet und zu wertvollen, langlebigen Einzelstücken verarbeitet.
Verarbeitung
Die Stämme werden hierfür zu starken Bohlen ge- schnitten, getrocknet und zu Tischplatten verarbeitet.
Um den besonderen, natürlichen Charakter des Stam- mes zu bewahren, bleibt die Baumkante erhalten. Die Oberfläche des Tisches wird von Hand sorgfältig ge- bürstet und geschliffen und bekommt dadurch eine fei- ne Struktur. Um den hohen Anforderungen im Außen- bereich gerecht zu werden, erhält die Tischplatte auf der Unterseite mehrere Verstärkungen aus Edelstahl.
Formensprache
Mit der Herstellung dieser Unikattische aus nachhalti- gem Teakholz bleiben wir im wahrsten Sinne des Wor- tes unseren Wurzeln als holzverarbeitender Betrieb treu und lassen die Tradition ausdrucksstarker Holztische wieder aufleben. Ein massiver Teakholztisch begeis- tert durch seine naturbelassene Formensprache. Er sorgt für eine ansprechende, individuelle Ausstrah- lung, überzeugt durch Haptik, Eleganz und Langlebig- keit und eignet sich somit hervorragend für das Woh- nen im Freien.
Growth
Each tree is unique by nature. It shows traces of its environment and the years it has experienced in the course of its growth. Only after 80 years has the tree reached its maturity for high-quality furniture parts and is harvested under the regulations of a forestry sen- sible and sustainable use and processed into valuable, long-lasting individual pieces.
Processing
The logs are cut into strong planks for this, dried and made into table tops. To preserve the special, natural character of the trunk, the edge of the tree is retained.
The surface of the table is carefully brushed by hand and sanded, giving it a fine finish structure. To meet the high requirements in the outdoor area the table top shows underneath several reinforcements made of stainless steel.
Design language
With the production of these unique tables from sus- tainable teak we are following our roots as a wood pro- cessing company and revive the tradition of expres- sive wooden tables. A solid teak table impresses with its natural design language. It ensures an appealing in- dividual look and impresses with its feel, elegance and durability and is therefore perfect for living outdoors.

Thomas Kirn Kurt Ranger
Kurt Ranger (Jahrgang 1954) arbeitet seit 1997 als freiberuflicher Designer und hat neben verschiedenen Möbeln auch über 130 Museumseinrichtungen, Aus- stellungen, Showrooms und zahlreiche andere Projek- te und Produkte konzipiert und gestaltet. Beispielswei- se das Visitor Centre der Europäischen Zentralbank in Frankfurt, das FC Bayern Museum in der Allianz Arena in München und das Jüdische Museum Göppingen.
„Design ist für mich kein Projekt der Moderne, das etwa mit dem Bauhaus beginnt. Es ist vielmehr ein Teil der Evolution des Menschen, die bereits in steinzeit- lichen Artefakten sichtbar wird: Das Bemühen, sinn- volle, funktionale und schöne Objekte zu gestalten, ist ein Merkmal des Homo sapiens. So gesehen sind Gartenmöbel möglichst wetterfeste Werkzeuge zum Entspannen, für die Freizeitgestaltung und auch zur Verschönerung des privaten Lebensbereiches. Viel- leicht auch ein Statement.“
Kurt Ranger (born 1954) has worked as a freelance designer since 1997 and, in addition to various pieces of furniture, has also designed over 130 museum fa- cilities, exhibitions, showrooms and numerous other projects and products. For example, the Visitor Center of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, the FC Bay- ern Museum in the Allianz Arena in Munich and the Jewish Museum in Göppingen.
“For me, design is not a modern project that begins with the Bauhaus, for example. It is rather a part of human evolution that is already visible in Stone Age ar- tefacts: the effort to create meaningful, functional and beautiful objects is a characteristic of Homo sapiens.
Seen in this way, outdoor furniture are tools for rela- xing, for spending free time and also for beautifying private life. Perhaps also a statement.“
Thomas Kirn, geboren 1960 in Freudenstadt, absol- vierte eine Raumausstatter-Lehre bei Rolf Benz, die er als Handwerksmeister beendete. Von 1978 bis 2013 war er in der Entwicklungsabteilung von Rolf Benz tä- tig. Das Designbüro Wolfgang Setz sowie Völkle Büro- stühle und Maniatis & Kirn Design waren weitere Sta- tionen. 2015 gründete Kirn sein eigenes Designstudio.
Es versteht sich als Design-Dienstleistungsbüro, das komplette Entwurfs- und Konzeptlösungen im In- und Outdoor-Bereich bietet. Thomas Kirn realisiert Projek- te für renommierte internationale Möbelmarken.
Bei seiner Arbeit zeichnet ihn eine klare Handschrift in reduzierter Formensprache aus. Er verbindet High Tech Werkstoffe mit natürlichen Materialien und zu- kunftsweisende Techniken mit perfekter Ergonomie.
Die Menschen stehen dabei immer im Mittelpunkt seiner Designs.
Thomas Kirn, born 1960 in Freudenstadt, graduated an interior decorating apprenticeship at Rolf Benz, which he finished as a master craftsman. From 1978 to 2013 he worked in the development department at Rolf Benz. The design office Wolfgang Setz, Völkle of- fice chairs and Maniatis & Kirn Design were further steps. In 2015 Kirn founded his own design studio.
It‘s aim as a design service bureau is to offer complete design and concept solutions for in- and outdoor areas.
Thomas Kirn realizes projects for renown international furniture brands. In his work, he is characterized by a clear handwriting in a reduced design language. He combines high tech materials with natural materials and future-oriented materials techniques with perfect ergonomics. People are always the focus of his de- signs.

Apirat Boonruangthaworn ist ein in Bangkok gebo- rener Designer, der eine Reihe von Designs entworfen hat, die von kleinen Dekorationsgegenständen bis zu größeren Möbelstücken reichen. In seinen Werken, die von der Frage getrieben werden, was gutes De- sign ausmacht, kann sein Lebenswerk als ständige Erforschung dessen angesehen werden, was Dinge dazu bringt, von ihren Nutzern geliebt zu werden.
Apirat hat seine einzigartigen Designprinzipien so ent- wickelt, dass sein Design auch menschliche Akzente setzt. Mit dem Versuch, den sogenannten „Ausdruck inspirierender Einfachheit“ im 21. Jahrhundert neu zu erfinden, möchte Apirat alle traditionellen Ornamente entfernen und die Universalität des Designs artikulie- ren, die inspirierende Einfachheit und Sinnhaftigkeit vermittelt.
Apirat Boonruangthaworn is a Bangkok-born desi- gner who has created a number of designs ranging from small decorative items to larger furniture pieces.
His works driven by the question of “what constitutes good design”, his life work can be seen as an ongoing exploration of what makes things being loved by their users.
Apirat has developed his unique design principles in such a way that his design also makes a human im- pact. With an attempt to reinvent the so-called “ex- pression of inspiring simplicity” in the 21st century, Apirat is keen to strip away all the traditional ornament and articulate the universality of design that renders inspiring simplicity and meaningfulness.
Wolfgang C.R. Mezger, geboren 1951, studierte, nach etlichen musikalischen Projekten und einer Aus- bildung zum Typografen, Industriedesign an der Hoch- schule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd. Nach frei- beruflicher Tätigkeit gründet er 1983 das DesignBüro Wolfgang C.R. Mezger. Neben seiner beruflichen Tätigkeit als selbständiger Designer für internationale Top-Firmen in den USA, Großbritannien, Italien, Hol- land, Österreich, der Schweiz und Deutschland, nimmt er Lehraufträge an verschiedenen Designhochschulen in Berlin, London und Schwäbisch Gmünd wahr. Seit 2007 befindet sich das Büro in Göppingen, wo er mit seinem Team vielfältige, innovative Produkte entwi- ckelt. Davon zeugen weltweite Ausstellungen und bis heute mehr als 80 internationale Designpreise.
Oberste Prämisse ist immer die „Suche nach dem Genialen“, der Weg eine Synthese aus Funktionalität und Poesie.
Wolfgang C.R. Mezger, born 1951, after numerous musical projects and training as a typographer, studied industrial design at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design. After working as a freelancer, he founded the DesignBüro Wolfgang C.R. Mezger. In addition to his professional activity as a freelance designer for top international companies in the USA, Great Britain, Italy, Holland, Austria, Switzerland and Germany, he teaches at various design schools in Berlin, London and Schwäbisch Gmünd. The office has been in Göp- pingen since 2007, where he and his team develop diverse, innovative products. Worldwide exhibitions and to date more than 80 international design awards are evidence of this.

Peter Christian Hertel, geboren 1968, und Sebastian Klarhoefer, geboren 1966, kennen sich seit Schulzei- ten. Sie studierten Architektur in Berlin und Venedig und machten 1996 und 1994 einen Abschluss am Berliner Institut für Technologie. Ihre ersten Möbelde- signs schufen sie während des Studiums am Instituto Universitario di Architettura in Venedig bei Aldo Rossi.
1999 gründeten sie ihre Designagentur hertel & klar- hoefer.

Zunächst einmal lassen wir uns von der Materialität der Dinge inspirieren. Deshalb arbeiten wir sehr früh an Materialien und Prototypen.“
Peter Christian Hertel, born in 1968, and Sebastian Klarhoefer, born in 1966, know each other since school days. They studied Architecture in Berlin and Venice and degreed in 1996 and 1994 at the Berlin In- stitute of Technology. They created their first furniture designs during the studies at the Instituto Universita- rio di Architettura in Venice with Aldo Rossi. In 1999 they founded their design agency hertel & klarhoefer.

But as well travelling around, in other countries, seeing things that strike your eyes is where creative ideas are being born … Sometimes the best ideas come in the most unex- pected situations! First of all we are inspired by the materiality of things. That’s why we work very early on materials and prototypes.“
