Trifolium pratense L.

DE (Representative: Freudenberger, Krefeld) Fact Sheet

The best from the varieties Corvus and Merula

DUS test conducted at Scharnhorst, BSA (DE), 2012-2015

UPOV No Characteristics State of expression Note

At the time of its admission, Columba was the best performing diploid variety in the Mattenklee group, keeping its high yield potential until the third year of cultivation. The outstanding persistence is not least a consequence of its strong resistance against southern

anthracnose (Colletotrichum trifolii).

Columba is based on a cross between the two varieties Corvus and Merula. As a typical characteristic of the variety, Columba shows a high proportion (one fourth) of plants without white marks on leaves, a trait commonly typical for red clover.
