aufgebaut, sondern wieder nur eines, das nur zahlungskraeftigen Institutionen offen steht. JSTOR ist ein

Zeitschriftendigitalisierungsprojekt, an dem laut http://www.jstor.org/about/participants_intl.html

in Deutschland nur die folgenden Institutionen partizipieren:

Sehr kleine Institutionen zahlen (fuer Arts & Science) in den USA eine jaehrliche Nutzungsgebuehr von 2000 Dollar, kleine schon 3000 Dollar.

Dies bedeutet, wissenschaftlich bedeutsame Fachinformationen stehen nur den "happy few", die einer der wenigen Institutionen angehoeren, die diesem Projekt angehoeren, zur Verfuegung. Die neueste Diskussion unter Naturwissenschaflern ueber die freie Verfuegbarkeit von Aufsaetzen zeigt jedoch, dass die wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaft zunehmend gegen prohibitive Zugangsmodalitaeten Einspruch erhebt.
