The ETEAM Conference - Challenges and Perspectives of Tier 1 Exposure Assessment, 25./26.03.2014 in Dortmund

Conceptual evaluation Dr. Katrin Schröder Fraunhofer ITEM

In this part of the project a general evaluation of the models‘ concepts has been done. It includes a description of the different tools, their design and use as well as their history of development and background. The algorithm is described as well as underlying principles and data. Available guidance documents and other relevant publications are listed.

In the course of this process an applicability matrix has been developed, which includes a summary of the models’ scope and can be used to identify appropriate models for different exposure situations. Moreover a so-called usemap has been created that facilitates the conversion of the different use categorisation systems into each other (e.g. DEO units, PROCs).

The outcomes of this workpackage therefore give model users the possibility to compare different tools concerning scope and use and serve as a basis for other parts of the project where detailed knowledge of the model algorithms is needed.
