Abstract: Group actions on hyperbolic and relatively hyperbolic spaces can be used to obtain quite a lot of information about random walks. In particular, I will discuss results about generic elements and tracking of random walks with geodesics, mostly focusing on relatively hyperbolic groups and mapping class groups.
