Demonstrativpronomen (hinweisende Fürwörter) this, these that, those
this (dieser, diese, dieses, Einzahl (Singular)) these (diese, Mehrzahl (Plural)) weisen auf örtlich, zeitlich oder gedanklich Näherliegendes hin.
Beispiele:
Who is this woman in the picture? Wer ist diese Frau auf dem Bild?
These are my trainers here. Dies sind meine Turnschuhe hier.
that (jener, jene, jenes, (S)) those (jene (P) im Deutschen auch mit dieser, diese, dieses (S) und diese (P) übersetzt ) weisen auf örtlich, zeitlich oder gedanklich Fernerliegendes hin.
Beispiele:
That is my bike over there. Jenes (Dies, Das) ist mein Fahrrad dort drüben.
Those are Tom´s trainers in the corner! Jene (Diese, Dies) sind Toms Turnschuhe in der Ecke!
Du merkst vielleicht, dass sich diese Unterscheidung im Deutschen eher verloren hat, aber im Englischen wird sie konsequent verwendet. Deshalb macht es Sinn sie zu üben.
