SED U017 – Insurance Record – Crossborder worker
Insurance Record – Crossborder worker SED U017 allows the Counterparty state to respond to SED U001CB and provide information about the former activity of the crossborder worker which the Case Owner needs in order to decide on the entitlement to the unemployment benefits. It allows answering on whether there is an entitlement for unemployment benefits and when it starts. In order to decide about the amount of the unemployment benefit that the Petitioner is entitled to, the Case Owner can request the SED U004.
It is important to note that some information will only be given if it has been explicitly requested in the SED U001CB, for example, the reasons for the termination of the last activity, earnings or hours of non-insured activity. This information is not needed in all the Member States, therefore when the Case Owner is requesting the information with SED U001CB he/she should indicate next to the respective data field that the information is needed by clicking 'Yes'. The receiving state should treat this data item as mandatory and make sure that the corresponding point is filled in in SED U017.
SED U017 contains a special section 4 for crossborder workers. The Counterparty (Member State of last activity) has to indicate whether the person concerned is entitled to unemployment benefits under Regulation No 883/2004. This is to ensure that there is no overlapping of unemployment benefits received from the State of last activity and State of residence.
SED U017 is similar to SED U002. The only difference is the additional section 4 'Entitled to benefits' in U017.
