From october 24th to 26th the "Euro- pean Students of Industrial Enginee- ring and Management (ESTIEM)"' held their 3rd international congress in

EEMA: European Enginee- ring and Management Asso- ciation
Im Rahmen des Kongresses des Ver- bandes Deutscher Wirtschaftsinge- nieure (VWI) fand am 23. November 1991 in Berlin die Gründungsver- sammlung für eine "European Engineering and Management Asso- ciation (EEMA)" statt.
Vertreter des Wirtschaftsingenieurwe- sens aus Belgien, Deutschland, Italien, Niederlande, Österreich, Polen, Schweiz und Sowjetunion vereinbar- ten die Einsetzung eines Founding Executive Board, bestehend aus vier Personen:

Das Ziel dieser Organisation soll die Einrichtung und Pflege von Beziehun- gen zwischen Institutionen und Perso- nen sein, die im Bereich technisch- wirtschaftlicher Ausbildung tätig sind oder solche Ausbildungen absolviert haben.
Insbesondere sollen aufgebaut werden:
der Informationsaustausch inner- halb Europas
- der Studenten-Austausch
- die Veranstaltung von Europäischen Konferenzen, Meetings und Semi- naren
- ein Informationsservice für Univer- sitäten, Industriebetriebe und Ein- zelpersonen.
Als Mitglieder sind derzeit einschlägi- g.e nationale Verbände (wie z.B. der Osterreichische Verband der Wirt- schaftsingenieure) und Ausbildungsin- stitutionen (wie z.B. Universitäten,

The main result of our activities is the first number of the ESTIEM-magazi- ne wh ich gives us the chance to pre- sent ideas and interesting articles to an international public. This is why we would like to invite you and your company to publish articles wh ich might be of interest to industrial engineers or even to advertise in our magazme.
We are all very enthusiastic to work together on our international scale.

"Board" as they have to travel to 5 or 6 "Boardmeetings" a year.
Finally. we are proud that one of the visions that ca me up at the Darmstadt- meeting in January 1990 has co me true. At the 1991 VWI-congress in Berlin the "professors" decided to found an international organisation of graduated industrial engineers. We are already looking forward to collaborate with this newly established body.
Let"s work together and bring up syn- ergy effects to make our visions for the future come true.

Teilbereiche darin wie z.B. Fakultäten oder Institute) vorgesehen, die die Kombination technisch-wirtschaftli- cher Ausbildung pflegen und unter- stützen. Einzelpersonen können eben- falls aufgenommen werden.
Diese Grundsätze sind in einem ersten Entwurf einer in Berlin diskutierten Satzung enthalten; über weitere Details soll spätestens beim nächsten Zusammentreffen anläßlich des WIV- Kongresses in Graz (18. - 20. Juni 1992) beraten werden. Der internatio- nale Zusammenschluß der Wirt- schaftsingenieure (wie er ja auf Stu- denten-Ebene durch ESTIEM bereits aktiv betrieben wird) nimmt damit auf noch breiterer Basis erfreulich konkre- te Formen an.
