An error occurred in the scanner unit. Turn off the printer, wait several minutes and then turn it on again.

An error occurred in the scanner’s carriage. Turn off the printer, wait several minutes and then turn it on again. If the error occurs again, contact your dealer or a qualified customer support person for assistance.

Scanner Lock Error

Set the transportation lock to the unlocked position, and then turn on the printer. If the error occurs again, contact your dealer or a qualified customer support person for assistance.

Searching Files

The printer is searching files in the USB memory.

Select A4, A5, LT or LGL paper

You started layout copying while the paper loaded in the specified paper source is other than A4, A5, LT, or LGL size. Replace the loaded paper with the correct size paper.

Select Other Paper Size

Replace the loaded paper with the correct size paper.

Service Req Cffff/Service Req Eggg/Service Req Xffff

A controller error or a print engine error has been detected. Turn off the printer. Wait at least 5 seconds, then turn it back on. If the error message still appears, write down the error number listed in the LCD panel (Cffff/Eggg/Xffff), turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, then contact a qualified service representative.

Sleep

The printer is currently in power-save mode. This mode is canceled when the printer receives job data or the Power Saving button is pressed.

This message indicates that the toner cartridge is near the end of its service life. Prepare a new toner cartridge.

Unable Clear Error

The printer cannot clear an error message because the error status still remains. Try solving the problem again.

Unable to scan because PC-FAX is saving files

The PC-FAX operation might be performed. Finish the PC-FAX operation, and then try to send the fax again.

Unable to Transmit Fax

Unable to perform fax transmissions. This message appears when you send a fax manually. When sending a fax using the memory transmission function, the message does not appear.

A fax communication error occurred during transmission. Wait for a few minutes and try again. Also make sure that the fax number is correct.

Unsupported USB device is connected.

USB Memory Error

A USB memory is not connected to the printer. Connect a USB memory to the USB Host interface.

USB Memory Write Error

Saving data to the USB memory failed.

USB Memory Write Protect

Unable to save the data to the USB memory. Check that the USB memory connected to the printer is not read-only.

Using Fax Tool

A computer on a network is accessing fax-related information. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.

Using Phone

The external telephone connected to the printer is being used.

You started printing from a USB memory while multiple jobs are stored in the printer. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again.
