UPOV No Characteristics State of expression Note

The basic material of the variety Otaria is the fine leaved breeding material of the Federal Research Station RAC in Changins. Through a strong selection on fine and flexible leaves at ART Reckenholz, Otaria achieved a further improvement of the fineness of the foliage compared with the variety Belfine. The strong juvenile growth, the high density of the crops and the excellent persistence of Otaria make her interesting for the use in mixtures for pastures for drought or intermittent wet conditions.
