•  Ausubel (1999) studied a large-scale field experiment –  Credit card company randomly

– 1st 6 months: 6.9% interest – thereafter: 16% interest 2.  Pre treatment

– 1st 6 months: 4.9% interest (low now) – thereafter: 16% interest

3.  Post treatment

– 1st 6 months: 6.9% interest

– thereafter: 14% interest (low tomorrow)

•  This is what the authors do or argue…

•  But could it be done differently?

–  E.g. More or different data? And why?

•  Or, could there be a different explanation?
