The isoperimetric function of groups defined by a single positive word

Arye Juhasz

Abstract: We develop a method which sorts out all those positive words for which the groups defined by the words are not small cancellation groups, in any generalised sense. Consequently, the isoperimetric function is either linear or quadratic or the isoperimetric function of the groups sorted out by the procedure in an explicit way.

We use van Kampen diagrams and word combinatorics.
