Grasping Emotions

Methodological Concepts of Biblical Emotion Research in Interreligious and Interdisciplinary Discourse

October 21–24, 2021

Grasping Emotions

Different academic disciplines share their respective perspec- tives on methodological questions of emotion research. Theolo- gies have no exclusive access to religious authoritative texts—be they Jewish, Christian, or Islamic. Instead, they enter into a dis- course with other disciplines, such as psychology, literary studies, sociology, cultural studies, philosophy, and historiography. Stim- ulating dialogue among scholars of different disciplines, the con- ference offers the opportunity to communicate research results and to discuss methodologies across disciplinary boundaries.
