Curation of digital assets and advanced digitisation / InTaVia H2020

online / Danube University Krems, Mar 10–18, 2021 Nicole High-Steskal

Invitation to Innovation Workshop

InTaVia is a H2020 research and innovation action funded by the European Commission within the Call DT-TRANSFORMATIONS-12-2018-2020 “Curation of digital assets and advanced digitisa- tion” (project ID: 101004825) under the lead of Dr. Eva Mayr and Mag. Florian Windhager of the Danube University Krems, Austria.

We are reaching out to experts to become part of the innovation process for this new initiative.

We would like to know more about the tools and concepts you use to access and analyze cultural object collections or biographical records of cultural actors and gain a deeper understanding of your needs and goals for handling cultural information in your daily practice. Therefore we would like to invite you to an online innovation workshop to be held in March 2021.

Workshop agenda:

•Reflection session: How do you currently work with information about cultural objects and / or artists (i.e. create, search, analyze, curate and communicate such cultural information)?

•Ideation session: How could a platform for professionals (like you) look like, which integrates cul- tural and biographical information with visualization and storytelling?

We would highly appreciate your support! Please let us know if you are available at one of our workshop dates (March 10 or March 18) here: https://forms.gle/QZJwtkJTqpz2U9B56 We look forward to your participation and to valuable insights into your practice.

About the project:

The project aim is to develop a new platform to access, analyze, curate and communicate cultural data of two types: cultural object collections and historical texts, especially artist biographies. The platform will enable users to work with cultural objects and cultural (hi)stories in an integrated fashion. For that matter it will allow access to both objects and biographies from existing databas- es (such as Europeana or national biography databases) as well as local object collections and biographies. InTaVia will allow users to a) search, curate and link such data, b) to visually analyze the data (e.g. by the use of timelines, maps, networks, statistical diagrams) and c) to create sto- ries specifically suited for the communication of this content to public (non-expert) audiences.
