Research alumni and their Senckenberg partners have the opportunity to apply for various annual grants:
REUNION GRANT:
If you, as alumni, have conducted collaborative research at Senckenberg before and wish to continue your collaboration at Senckenberg, you can apply for funds to return to Senckenberg.
TRAVEL GRANT FOR CO-SUPERVISORS:
If you, as an alumnus/a, are co-supervising a PhD thesis of a Senckenberg doctoral student, you can apply for a travel grant to come to Germany for the thesis defense or another meeting with the PhD student and his/her Senckenberg advisor.
TRAVEL GRANTS FOR YOUNG SCIENTISTS:
If you are a PhD student or a junior researcher in a group led by a Senckenberg scientists or his/her international collaboration partner, you can apply for a travel grant to visit the partner’s lab.
YOUR BENEFITS THROUGH THE NETWORK
OUR REGULAR NEWSLETTER provides the alumni with the latest news about research and publications, alumni portraits, and information on upcoming events.
OUR ALUMNI RECEIVE AN ALUMNI CARD, which grants life-long admission to the Senckenberg museums.
ANNUAL NETWORK MEETINGS enable alumni and scientists as well as other Senckenberg staff members to reunite und keep in touch.
A ROUND TABLE will be held at regular intervals for national and international scientists at Senckenberg.
WORLD-WIDE FANS OF GEOBIODIVERSITY
International collaboration is very important in Senckenberg research. Senckenberg scientists have published papers with partners from more than 130 countries (2013 – 2015).
Senckenberg researchers are part of an extensive scientific network around the globe. Every year, many international scientists visit the Senckenberg institutes and collections.
They conduct collaborative research projects with Senckenberg scientists or integrate Senckenberg’s collections into their own research projects.
Senckenberg scholars are actively involved in teaching at universities, and many PhD students have received their training and education at Senckenberg. Postdoctoral fellows spend a varying amount of time at Senckenberg to conduct their research here.
Senckenberg scientists and research alumni share their interest und passion for research in Geobiodiversity. This integrative interdisciplinary science lives through collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
THE GOALS OF FANS OF GEOBIODIVERSITY
With the Research Alumni Network Senckenberg, we intend to foster long-lasting cooperation and maximize mutual benefits such as an intensified dialogue, exchange of knowledge and joint projects.
