Legal Status of TRGS

Application of TRGS leads to the assumption that the requirements of the hazardous substance ordinance are fulfilled.

Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances (TRGS)

TRGS are discussed and agreed by the AGS

Drafts of the TRGS are prepared in working-groups of the AGS, that are also „tripartite“ and may include participants that are not members of the AGS, e.g.

technical experts and representatives

(e.g. employers, employees, producing industry) from industry branches that are especially involved in some TRGS.

BAuA is the secretariat of the AGS. It controls formal issues in the TRGS (like terminology and
