MY SHIP IS MY HOME
Luke and Lisa like the pirate ship very much.
“For me the ship is my home,” says Paula. “Come on, I want to show you everything!”
They walk down a staircase into a small room.
“This is my cabin. I sleep and eat here.”
Everything is made of wood. There is a telescope on the table.
Paula points at it and says, “I look through it to fi nd treasure.”
“Your bed is very small,” says Lisa.
“Look at the windows!” says Luke. “They are round like the sun.”
“Do you want to see my treasures?” Paula asks.
“Yes, yes, yes!” the children shout.
Luke and Lisa climb down another staircase. It is very dark here. They hear the waves. Slush! Slush! Slush!
“Oh, this is creepy!” says Lisa.
“Look,” says Paula and she opens a box.
“Wow!” says Luke. “The treasure box is full of golden words!”
Lisa reads the words. “Window, deep, ship, like. These are English words!”
“Yes, my English words are my treasures,” Paula says. “I hang them on the wall in my cabin like a picture. They glow golden, so I do not need a lamp. They are wonderful!”
