Setting up eduroam on iOS, macOS, Linux und Windows (Students)
Students of the University of Stuttgart gain wireless access to the internet with eduroam. The easiest way to safely set up the network is by using eduroam CAT, a website where you can download preconfigured profiles.
This method is recommended for all devices running on iOS (iOS 5 or higher), macOS (10.7 and higher) Linux and Windows (7, 8, 10).
Please note:
• To follow the instructions below an internet connection is required, e.g. your WiFi at home, mobile data or a mobile hotspot
• You can perform all steps of the instruction even if you are not on campus - your device will connect as soon as you are in reach of the eduroam network
1. eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool
1.1 Visit uni-stuttgart.de/eduroam (without www.) 1.2 Select your user group: STUDENT
2. Download configuration file
• The configuration file for your operating system is displayed
• Tap on the blue button to start downloading the configuration file
3. Installing the configuration file on your device
3.1 Auf Windows, macOS and Linux you need to open the file. On iOS this will happen automatically.
3.2 Follow the instructions displayed on screen by clicking Install or Next
3.3 Type in your full e-mail adress (in form of st******@stud.uni-stuttgart.de) as your user name 3.4 Enter your password (the same as in SIAM, VPN, mail...)
Following the instructions the configuration is completed and eduroam is set up on your device.
