Content of the programme

The M.A. European Studies at Europa-Universität Flensburg (EUF) is an interdisciplinary and research-oriented programme that provides specialized knowledge, skills and abilities in politics, law, economics, sociology and the humanities in the domain of European studies and research on the European Union. It prepares students to take up jobs as civil servants, policy advocates in non- governmental organizations, business advisors, researchers and policy analysts.

Our Master degree programme is an international programme with all classes taught exclusively in English, it comprises of both compulsory and elective subjects. The Master of Arts in European Studies is a full-time, two-year degree.

2/4 Entrance requirements

In order to apply, you should meet the following requirements:

1. Applicants must have obtained an undergraduate degree (for example, a Bachelor’s degree or German Magister, Diplom, or Staatsexamen) from a foreign or German institution of higher education with at least three years of study. This degree must have been obtained within a subject or combination of subjects in the field of humanities, social sciences, law or economics, respectively in a field which is relevant to the master’s programme. Applicants must prove that they have completed the course of study as one of the best third of their class.

2. Please consult our webpage for language proficiency tests we accept and minimum results required.

Indispensable documents for a valid application The following documents (checklist) must be submitted:

1. Application form completely filled in and duly signed.

2. Certified/notarized copies of the original certificate and of the translation made by an officially recognised translator into German or English language of the final degree certificate of your studies (undergraduate degree).

3. Certified/notarized copies of the original certificates and of the translations made by an officially recognised translator into German or English language of the transcripts or other academic records that give proof of your undergraduate studies, including credits and grades achieved in each single subject.

4. Certified/notarized copy of the original certificate and of the translation made by an officially recognised translator into German or English language of your high-school graduation certificate.

5. Proof of English proficiency. You may send a copy of the English language certificate (see above) with this application but: the TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS test must be sent to us directly from the test centre (TOEFL: institutional code 8512, department code 80 Other Social Sciences)

6. Curriculum Vitae showing complete education from start of primary school until today including professional experience, voluntary social and/or political activities etc

7. Motivation letter (1-1.5 pages) How to apply?
