General information

Reading and storing the user manual

This user manual accompanies this stop watch. It contains important information on handling the product.

Before using the stop watch, read the user manual carefully.

This particularly applies to the safety notes. Failure to heed this user manual may result in severe injury or damage to the stop watch.

Store the user manual for future use. If you pass the stop watch on to third parties, please be absolutely sure to include this user manual.

Explanation of symbols

The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the stop watch or on the packaging.

This symbol/signal word designates a hazard with moderate

degree of risk which may lead to death or severe injury if not avoided.

This signal word warns against potential damages to property.

This symbol provides you with useful additional information on handling and use.

Proper use

The stop watch is designed only as a chronometer. It is only intended for private use and not suitable for commercial purposes.

Only use the stop watch as described in this user manual. Any other use is considered improper and may result in damage to property. The manufacturer or vendor accepts no liability for damage caused by improper or incorrect use.

Safety notes

CELL BATTERY

Danger of suffocation!

The stop watch contains a battery and small parts. While playing, children could swallow batteries, small parts, or package wrappings and choke.

- Keep batteries out of reach of children. Swallowing may lead to serious injury or death in as little as 2 hours due to internal burns. If swallowed, go straight to a hospital emergency room.

- Dispose of used batteries immediately.

- Keep batteries, small parts and package wrappings away from infants/small children.

- Keep the stop watch out of the reach of infants/small children.

Risks associated with batteries!

The stop watch contains a button cell battery. Handling the battery improperly poses the risk of explosions or serious internal injuries.

− Store both new and used button cell batteries so that they are not accessible to children.

− If you suspect that a button cell battery has been swallowed or otherwise incorporated, promptly go to a hospital emergency room. Do not eat or drink and do not induce vomiting.

− Only have the battery replaced with the same battery type.

− Do not touch leaky batteries. If you do happen to come into contact with battery acid, wash the affected area thoroughly with plenty of clean water. If battery fluid comes into contact with your eyes or triggers a skin response, you should also seek medical attention.

− If it is no longer possible to securely close the battery

compartment with the case cover, dispose of the stop watch as described in the chapter “Disposal”.

− Do not charge or reactivate the batteries, do not disassemble them, do not dispose of them in fire and do not short circuit them.

− Remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.

− Remove batteries from the product before extended storage.

− Dispose of batteries at your collection point.

Danger for children and persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled persons, older persons with reduced

physical and mental capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older children).

− This stop watch is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the stop watch by a person responsible for their safety. Children must not play with the stop watch. Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children unless they are under supervision.

− Keep children away from the stop watch.

Risk of damage!

If you use the stop watch improperly or water penetrates the housing, the stop watch or the battery may be damaged.

− Protect the stop watch from exposure to dirt and dust, extreme heat and sunlight.

− Keep the stop watch away from open flames (e.g. candles).

− Do not drop the stop watch, do not expose it to shocks and impacts and do not apply pressure to the stop watch.

− Never immerse the stop watch in water.

− Make sure that no water penetrates the housing.

Checking the stop watch and product contents

1. Remove the stop watch from the packaging.

2. Check whether the product contents are complete and if the stop watch is damaged (see fig. A).

3. If the delivery is incomplete and/or if parts are damaged, do not use the stop watch. Contact the manufacturer via the service address indicated on the warranty certificate.

Operation

Display

Please remove the protective foil from the display. The stop watch is already switched on.

• SPLIT/RESET button : Press and hold to display alarm time.

• MODE button : Press to display stop watch with 1/100 second precision. Press MODE again three times to get back to the time mode.

• START/STOP button : Press and hold to display the date (day and month).

Acoustic button control

The stop watch has an acoustic button control. Every time a button is pushed in the stop watch mode a beep signal continue

to sound.

Setting the time and date

Please follow the steps below to set the time and date:

Holding START/STOP will change the digits rapidly.

1. While in time mode, press MODE three times to get to the setting mode; the seconds will flash.

2. Press START/STOP to set the seconds back to 0 (if the value is 30 or more, the minutes increase by 1).

3. Press SPLIT/RESET and the minutes will flash. Press START/STOP to set the minutes.

4. Press SPLIT/RESET and the hour will flash. Press START/STOP to set the hour.

5. Press SPLIT/RESET again to set the date; the day will flash. Press START/STOP to set the day. Continue in this pattern to set the month and day of the week.

6. Press MODE to return to time mode.

When setting the hours, you can choose between 12 and 24-hour format: an “H,” “A,” or “P” will appear to the right of the minutes field.

Advance the hours

until you reach the desired format.

H = 24-hour format;

A/P = 12-hour format.

Setting the alarm time

Please follow the steps below to set the alarm time:

1. While in time mode: press MODE twice to get to the alarm setting mode. The alarm hour will flash.

2. Press START/STOP to set the hour. This will also

automatically enable the alarm. The alarm symbol appears on the display.

3. Press SPLIT/RESET and the alarm minutes will flash. Press START/STOP to set the minutes.

4. Press MODE to return to time mode.

5. Hold SPLIT/RESET and press START/STOP to turn the alarm off (alarm symbol disappears).

6. Hold SPLIT/RESET and press START/STOP again to turn the alarm on (alarm symbol appears).

When the alarm rings, press SPLIT/RESET to turn it off or press START/STOP to activate the snooze function (alarm will ring again after 5 minutes). The alarm remains active for the next day.

Activating hourly chime

Please follow the steps below to activate the hourly chime:

1. In time mode hold SPLIT/RESET and press MODE . The hourly chime is now on (all weekday strokes appear).

2. Hold SPLIT/RESET and press MODE again to turn off the hourly chime (all weekday strokes disappear).

Using the stop watch

In the stop watch mode there are some strokes flashing.

This is only for animation and has no relevance.

To use the stop watch function, please follow the steps below:

1. While in time mode, press MODE once to change to the stop watch display.

For simple time:

1. Press START/STOP to start counting.

2. Press START/STOP again to stop counting.

Pressing START/STOP again will continue the counting.

3. Press START/STOP to stop the counting and then press SPLIT/RESET to reset the time to 0.

4. Press MODE to return to time mode.

For split time (2 times) while in stop watch mode:

1. Press START/STOP to start counting.

2. Press SPLIT/RESET to split the time.

3. Press SPLIT/RESET again to see the continuing counting time.

4. Press SPLIT/RESET again to split the time.

Repeat as often as needed. While time is running stop the stop watch by pressing the START/STOP button and then press SPLIT/RESET to reset the time to 0.

5. Press MODE to return to time mode.

For finish line (2 times) while in stop watch mode:

1. Press START/STOP to start counting.

2. Press SPLIT/RESET to finish person 1 (display will show time for person 1).

3. Press START/STOP to finish person 2 (display will STILL show time for person 1).

4. Press SPLIT/RESET to show finish time for person 2 on the display.

5. Press SPLIT/RESET to reset stop watch mode to 0.

6. Press MODE to return to time mode.

Changing the battery

To change the battery, proceed as follows:

1. Unscrew the five battery compartment screws on the back cover of the stop watch using a screwdriver. (see fig. B).

2. Open the battery compartment and insert a new battery 1 x 1.5 V 4 µA AG13 with the plus polarity (+) facing upwards and screw the cover back on.

− If the display shows irregular symbols please take the battery out and reinsert it.

Cleaning

Risk of damage!

Improper cleaning may damage the stop watch.

− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives or similar. They could damage the surfaces.

− Clean the stop watch with a soft, damp cloth.

Disposal

Disposing of the packaging

Dispose of the packaging separated into single type materials. Dispose of cardboard and carton as waste paper and foils via the recyclable material collection service.

Disposing of old devices

Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste!

Should the stop watch no longer be capable of being used at some point in time, dispose of it in accordance with the regulations in force in your federal state or country. This ensures that old appliances are recycled in a professional manner and also rules out negative consequences for the environment.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste!

As the end user you are required by law to bring all batteries and rechargeable batteries, regardless whether they contain harmful substances* or not, to a collection point run by the communal authority or borough or to a retailer, so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

Stop watch

Warranty Details

The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and territory laws.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Repair and Refurbished Goods or Parts Notice

Unfortunately, from time to time, faulty products are manufactured which need to be returned to the supplier for repair.

Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost.

We recommend you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair.

You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process.

Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet ALDI’s stringent quality specifications.
