From June 1st, 2021, Kunstverein Langenhagen is looking for a new artistic director to succeed Noor Mertens, who is heading to Kunstmuseum Bochum. We are looking for an inspiring and com- municative personality who will continue to refine the idiosyncratic program of Kunstverein Lan- genhagen, and to connect it with an experimental education program. We are looking for some- one who would be excited to utilise great creative freedom to plan and implement exhibition and education programs. The current program will run until winter 2021.
We offer a part-time permanent position of 26 hours per week with a gross salary of 2200 euros (an increase of this salary has been requested). Other freelancers, such as an academic trainee and an educator, are currently working as honorary staff for the Kunstverein.
As artistic director your tasks include:
- Together with a small, committed team you are responsible for the conception, coordination and implementation of the annual program, funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Cul- ture. This includes the organization of exhibitions, events and an extensive educational program.
- You are responsible for the representation of the Kunstverein when needed (regionally, nationally and internationally) and expected to make appropriate contributions to professional communities and wider publics.
- You are responsible for the acquisition of all financing for the exhibition and education program from public bodies, relevant foundations and members.
- You are responsible for the management of the Kunstverein including bookkeeping.
- You cultivate good working relationships with the city of Langenhagen, the region of Hanover, the state of Lower Saxony, foundations, interest groups and private sponsors.
- You maintain a responsible, trusting and cooperative relationship with the board of directors and the advisory board.
