Artificial Intelligence in Art and Culture
Tremendous advances in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning, have led to novel possibilities in artistic practice and are transforming the museum experience. For example, muse- ums are introducing AI to give their visitors ways to engage more deeply and individually. AI can also help to gain new information about huge amount of collection data and to co-create images, music, and poetry that touch our souls and are sometimes even indistinguishable from human-cre- ated art. However, new developments in AI do not only offer novel tools to create art but at the same time raise critical questions about what it means to be creative – and whether a machine can truly be creative on its own. The special session focuses on new forms of human-machine interactions that broaden the horizon for applications of artificial intelligence in cultural produc- tions.

EAI ArtsIT 2021 will be held as a fully-fledged online conference (with an on-site possibility).
Topics
Contributors are invited to submit high-quality original research in the form of full papers, work in progress (posters), workshops, and panel/symposium proposals. The call for papers is aimed at people across a wide spectrum of interests and disciplines, including (but not limited to):
AI to Create or Co-Create Art and to foster Creativity;
AI as components of artworks;
Theoretical Discussions About Creativity and AI;
Ethical issues in the field of AI and Cultural Heritage;
AI to Engage with Art and Cultural Heritage;
Possibilities of de-biasing in cultural productions;
Analyses and Interpretation of visitor’s behavior;
AI-based recommendation systems in cultural productions or for museum visitors;
AI in human-computer communication for use in a cultural context;
AI-driven Sensors for use in Cultural Context.
